Blog & Forum Snapshot (July 13, 2011)

Ima registered on gV (ImarangSL) and is now posting on gV, SC MKII, FC, SL-official, here and on her own site (not so much on her own forum), and other places, I feel sure.

ImarangSL said in the "New Member Alert" thread on gV:
"10 Likes??!! Here is to hoping at least 9 other people don't know me ":)

gV strikes me as a good site for Ima and her, uh, fellow conversationalists.

tb324, dffggg (who is the spitting image of Aeriq Ravenheart, both are pictured above), No Shoes ("from Spanish Help Island,") Jamil, Rat, predator89, Dreamweaver and Quest also recently registered on gotVirtual.

There was a discussion in the "a gV advertising campaign II" thread about inducing guest pervers (spelled correctly, I'm talking about perving a thread) of the popular "Naughty" thread to register and become perving members.

GradyE, former "highest post count holder" on gV, once passed the baton to me and now I pass it on to colleen, the new "highest post count holder" on gV.

Mulch was unaccountably cranky in the "Lain (is Bams) (or anyone else), FreeBSD?" thread, but managed to get Lain is Bams talking about BSD anyway and even brought ev0L back out of hiding.  Heeeeee's baaaaack.

Wasted Engineer continued to dominate the What's New and area-17 sections of gV and Pants appeared to express some concern about that.

Pants said in her gV Status:
"Everything on here is Wasted. It's driving away the humans"
Perhaps, in addition to being asked what brought them to gV at the time of registration, gV members might also be asked to do "exit interviews."

Wasted's own site (www.wastedlife.com.ar) is down again.
"This Account may have reached its limit, is suspended or this domain no longer exists."

After Wasted declared himself a serial killer on gV, Cale Vinson declared me a serial referencer on SCMKII.

Cale Vinson said in the "Chaos Factor:  I'm calling you out" thread:
"Oh, for the good ol days, when serial-referencers were flogged in the town-square as a righteous warning to all. !!!!!!!!111!!!!!!!!!
And don't you dare reply "Maybe I would have liked that" missy !!!!!!
I responded by threatening to make Cale Vinson banners.  (She does leave banner-worthy posts lying all about the place, ya know.)

Han Held made some cool new banners for SC MKII including the one with the cyclists above and this one below.

I've made mention before that my favorite part of SC MKII is the (sometimes ironic) wit of the banners, parodies and tags.  Take a look at this tag on the banner thread:  banner i just met her

Then there is Jen's recent parody of Coco's "Some Atheists are a Pain in the Butt" thread entitled, appropriately enough, "Some Altruists Are a Pain in the Butt," which prompted Ishina to grunt out the following:
"Must... resist... urge to... trash... that evil... bitch... Mother Teresa...

And in a completely indelicate and questionable segue I close this post, not with Monna's HoHos for diabetics comment (her version of Pep's "ladies who lunch"), but with this comment from Storm, not to be confused with Stormy...

Storm said on Forum Confidential in the "ISHTARA DEFENDS RAPE CHARGES" post:
"My last post required I enter 'gonereha' to authenticate."

Catsuits and Open Pricing

This is a picture of my friend Stephie after she bought herself eighteen latex catsuits.  Isn't she cute?  She has a thing for latex.  I'll leave you to interpret the look on her face.  I already know what she was thinking.

The makers of the catsuit, Powers of Creation, offered it with open pricing.

I find the concept of open pricing interesting, so I invited two SL merchants who have used open pricing to post about it on gotVirtual, Vicky Aura and Roslynd Turbo.

Lee said:
"We were wondering if you would be willing to... tell us about the concept and how it is working for you. We were mainly wondering if you felt you were receiving fair payment and if more people were paying you than not. do you see "Open Pricing" as an experiment or as a regular way of doing business that you have adopted?"

This is one of Vicky Aura's posts on the subject:
"Hello everyone,
I just got a notice regarding this thread, that you´re interested in the concept of open price.

My store had regular prices first.
Every color had to be bought separate. Like you see it in most other stores.
A few releases later I was at the prim limit of my 1024 sqm land.
Getting bigger land so that I don´t hit such a limit again in the near future would have resulted in something like US-$ 8 - 10 per week (roundet).

I´m running this store because I have fun doing that.
I like it when I´m getting messages from people telling me that they like what they´ve got from me and/or paying my Open Price Terminal (or me directly) as this tells me that they like it.
A nice warm feeling
But well ... SL costs money for me too, so I need the "Open Price" payments too.
If I don´t get enough donations for paying my own bills, I would probably close the store at some time.

Offering everything at "Open Price" has some nice advantages.

No people complaining about failed marketplace deliveries
No people complaining that they don´t like it and want their money back
No reason to rent a satellite store anymore. Or better say: only in rare cases.
Having that warm feeling when I receive a payment - telling me that the customer likes it.

And ... I always hate it when I can´t try out clothes by myself before buying them.
I´ve seen to many salepictures in the past that were pimped with photoshop a lot.
With Open Price people can try everything out and combine them with other things before paying for it what they think is appropriate.

And don´t think too much about the amount to pay for.
Some people have more money, some others have less.
Any amount is ok.
If you´re currently low on money and want to pay more, I´m not stopping you from coming back and pay again
But that´s completely up to the customer.

The disadvantage of Open Price is that I entirely depend on the fairness of the customers of course.
But until now, I´ve no plans to drop the Open Price model for my store.

Stephie mentioned Plausible Body a few posts before.
I got the Open Price idea from them.
The Owners of PB and I are great friends and not into competition with our stores.
As far as I know, we have the only stores so far that are using Open Price."
This is a picture of one of Vicky's dresses:

Roslynd Turbo said:
"Vicky (we're good friends) just passed along this thread to me as well - Always glad to see the open:rice concept getting discussed - and yes it is sustaining Plausible Body really well - and best of all it's really fun and we get to meet so many great people - but Vicky really summed it up well in her post. I mainly just popped in to say Hi  :)

ok let me see what I can do to answer all this:

As for Men's stuff - we have some shoes that work unisex - I have one male shape in our new av pack (not even on the wall) but so far that's all - Working on a male skin but it's not done yet.
Store: http://slurl.com/secondlife/Manaslu/169/231/289
Marketplace: https://marketplace.secondlife.com/stores/31247
Blog: http://plausiblebody.blogspot.com/
Started PB in roughly November 2008 (wow - can't believe it's been that long) we started with open:: price very early (probably a month later) on because we started PB mainly for fun - open:: price was a great way to make it possible to have the store stay fun and also earn enough to cover costs and have a bit of land. It works well for us but I have nothing to compare it to so I've always wondered how it "compares" but I can't see us ever changing. We keep our skins, shapes, and Eyes regular price so it's almost like two in one - but the open:: price is our main volume - obviously.

Average payment is about $L100
Most we ever saw was L$2500
we get the odd L$1 but it's rare

I don't have a hard and fast stat about what percentage of people make a payment - but I believe it's around 5-10% (including marketplace) and more like 30% looking at only in-world.
there did I cover everything?"

I Call Him George

Ima Rang gave this to me in a comment thread on Forum Confidential.  I had to save it to show Stephie.  She (Ima) expressed some concern that I might be squeezing the SL freenises too hard.

Aw, those crazy Ozzies.

Totally random and posted here to show Stephie.  This smiley...

Speaking of smilies.  I was sad, but not surprised to see that all my smilies albums (I had A LOT of smilies collected and saved there) were deleted from RLetc.com.  Luckily I copied quite a bit of those collections over to my Photobucket account, but it does represent a fairly big loss of time, energy, effort and, of course, smilies.  The smilies went the way of my Social Groups.  C'est la vie.  Travel light, fellow netizens.

Forum Games People Play in the Middle of the Night

No, not like the Word Association game, Make a New Word or a Reaction thread, but games you can play with the forums and preferably with other players.

An example would be Mulch's Unregistered Bingo.

Second Citizen MKII:  Go to Quick Links and Who's Online.  See what the unregistered Guests are looking at.

For this example I have chosen the "This forum is colour shit" thread by Wasted.  Post a bingo bump.

Be prepared both for views and...well...um...some not so happy campers.  Not everyone enjoys this particular game and it can be viewed by some as...disruptive.  The level of annoyance will increase with both the frequency of play and with the sensitivity of the thread you bump.  Sleeping dogs and all that.

At the time of this writing there are 12 people viewing that thread post-bump of mine.  Four members and eight guests.  The first post to follow my bingo post is typical of the responses you will likely see to your own bingo posts.

gotVirtual:  Go to Members then Current Visitors.  See what the Guests are up to and then post in one of those threads.  You would, using the example below, post "Bingo!" in the "Against the Butt Sex" thread or the "What are you listening to?" thread.  I know which one I'd choose.

SLUniverse bingo is much the same as the others.  Go to Quick Links and Who's Online.  You get the idea.  It may be less disruptive if you play over multiple forums rather than just one...unless, of course, disruption is your goal.

For more information about Unregistered Bingo, please contact the originator of the game, Mulch.  Go ahead and tell him Lee sent you.  It will serve him right.

Another game is Who Am I?  Post as a well-known poster in the forum and have people guess who you are parodying.  Here is an example of Pig parodying Wasted Engineer in the "Do You Feel Annoyed by the Fags in SL" thread on gV.  (Wasted had posted a "Do you feel annoyed by the flags in SL?" thread earlier.)  Some of the entertainment comes from people not realizing you are doing a parody at all.

Another game you can play on forums is Scavenger Hunt.  Prepare a list of words and then go find posts with those words in them on the forums.  An example of this can be seen in my earlier blog post listing posts with the word "chicken" in them.  Borrowing an idea from the University of Chicago Scavenger Hunt, I chose the word "umbilical" for the next scavenger hunt example.  I plugged the word "umbilical" into the Search functions of the forums.  Would it surprise you to know that there are ten threads on SC MKII that contain the word "umbilical"?  There are seventeen on SLU.  When you compare the two, taking into consideration the sheer size of SLU, it does seem to me to be a disproportionate number.  Go figure.  gV delivers (pardon the pun) exactly one "umbilical" post.  Not surprisingly it is a post made by Kick Frenzy.

Kick said in the "The Universe: What came before the Big Bang?" thread on gV:
"I think I get it and they're wrong, but on the right path.
Our universe is like an egg.The brane connection is like an umbilical cord. The sudden influx of material is like sperm entering the egg.
Then there was life.
So there. :D"

I did enjoy seeing both some expected titles and some humorously incongruous titles pop up on SC MKII with the "umbilical" search.

God On TrialThe Abortion Thread, Screaming babies in delivery roomsCrowd-Source Help Needed: Is This FlipperPAY's Butt Crack? , Passive-aggressive, chickenshit tagging

Prokofy Neva is the OP of the "Crowd-Source Help Needed: Is This FlipperPAY's Butt Crack?" thread.  Troy Vogel posted the "umbilical" post in response to something Coco said.

Coco said:
"If Lecktor bounces Prok down to the Cornfield, I'll go down there with him, and post nowhere else.
Course, some might find that notion attractive!
"
Troy said:
"Now that's crazy talk...... why did you two share the same umbilical cord? I know siblings who show less loyalty. Frankly I think Prok is lucky to have someone like you backing her/him. A privilege s/he has yet to prove deserving.... in my opinion."
This is 23rdDJin's response to Sally Rosebud in the "Passive-aggressive, chickenshit tagging" thread started by the apparently aptly named PrettierHateMachine.

Sally said:
"I think some people might need to learn to step away from the computer.

marmalade"
23rdDJin said:
"oh, they do...
and immediately log in from their cellphone or (insert favorite e-umbilical here)."
While you're scavenger-hunting you may come across useful tidbits of information like this from Jen in that "Passive-aggressive, chickenshit tagging" thread.  Bonus!

Jen said:
"Aside: Little tip I learned from a Missouri farm boy/ metalworker: when hailstones ding your car all over, don't take it to the shop [hundreds $$, and unsatisfactory results]: instead, wait for a really hot day when the metal gets almost too hot to touch & then throw icewater on the car- the sudden change in temperature causes the dings to pop themselves back out."
Of the "umbilical" Search returns on SLU, how can you not immediately go to the "Weird home remedies that work" thread?  Surely that will be less alarming and potentially more useful than anything in the "Circumcision" thread, no?

Geaven Gall said:
"here are some home remedies from asia you really don't want to experience first-hand (as told to me by my grandmother):

if your child has chicken pox, get another child to pee in a tub of water and bathe your child in the pee water  (apparently, this has been done to me when i was too young to protest, but i will spare you the details )

if you have a cut, dig up some fresh soil and pack it directly on the wound . how my grandmother never had gangrene, i'll never know.
and also, in the old days midwives used to cut umbilical cords by breaking a ceramic plate in two and using the broken part since it's supposed to be clean and untouched."
Ready for the "Circumcision" thread?  C'mon.  It's kinda funny.  Not graphically creepy at all.  Totally worth it.  Truuuuuust me.

Mocksoup Graves said:
"VIVA LA FORESKIN!"
Well, he did, but the relevant portion is this:
"LOL, I feel strongly about this."
Ann Launay said:
"Umbilical cords? "
Mocksoup Graves said:
"Don't you? I have a sack in the closet. I can share."
TMI?  Looking forward to visiting Mocksoup at home now?

This one came from the "Who's messing with the SL Wiki" thread.

Lance Corrimal said to Joshua Nightshade:
"right, because i imagine when you were born the doc threw out your sarcasm glands together with the umbilical cord and all the other stuff... let me make the introductions...
'Irony, this is joshua, he never heard of you before. be nice to him.'"

Another game is to match a thread to a soundtrack (What's the Thread Soundtrack?).  A drama thread would probably require something dark and foreboding or maudlin and a humor thread something light and peppy.  Or as you wish.  You would then call it and post a corresponding Youtube music video in the thread.

I do not recommend any game of Guess the ________ (Alt, Sockpuppet, Owner, Operator, etc.)  That's for advanced players and can lead amateurs to obsession, paranoia and madness, not to mention awkward incidents.

Lastly, for this blog post at least, is the Old Forum Chestnut Drinking Game.  You drink every time someone posts an old forum chestnut.  Make sure you are not planning to drive or operate heavy machinery shortly after playing.  Examples would be drinking every time:

1.  Tarzan mentions a psych ward or psych meds.
2.  Lias scolds someone for name-calling.
3.  nina says, "hey."
4.  Joshua gets accused of running SLU.
5.  Lum mentions Rand.
6.  Kick tries to interpret or arbitrate a thread.
7.  Pep mentions gNat, Scylla or Suspiria (Sus, Miss Piggy or MP).
8.  Someone brings up the infamous "Joshua stalking Prok allegation" or the size of Joshua's weiner.
9.  Someone addresses Cristiano as "Chris."
10.  Someone asks if it is time for tits.
11.  Someone plays virtual psychologist on the forums.
12.  Someone plays virtual lawyer on the forums.
13.  Someone flounces, ragequits or ragestays.

Anyway, there's a couple games for your consideration.  Could be fun.  YMMV.  Just don't tell me you're bored.

Blog & Forum Snapshot (July 8, 2011)

The bloggers on Forum Confidential went on holiday, but the drama didn't.  See more, oh so much more, at FORUM CONFIDENTIAL GOES ON HOLIDAY!!

Coco is back on SC MKII (after an absence of about twelve days during which she was much missed by SC MKII regulars.)

Coco, in the "Threnody for Cocoanut" thread on SC MKII on Thursday July 7 at 8:06pm SLT, said:
"All right, darlin."
And she was back.

Wasted has declared himself a serial killer on gotVirtual...no really, I'm not making that up... and Lias has declared him "curious," as in curious about people's responses to his claims, not curious as an odd entity himself, although he clearly is that as well.

Wasted, in the "Am I strengthening or fucking the community?" thread on gV, said:
"I am a serial killer seriously"
Wasted in the "What the Hell is the Gambling Comission doing in California?" thread said:
"So, what do you think about this topic? I´m curious to know your opinion on this and the other topics"
That's more than a little hard to believe for anyone who has been reading Wasted's posts on the official SL forums, gV, SC MKII and SLU and his own websites over the, what, close to four, five or more years now (?), wherein he posts his proselytizing, cut-and-paste, griefer screeds born out of his Second Life failures and subsequent bannings and revels in the attention and completely forgoes any meaningful discussion when people post legitimate counter arguments.  Hell hath no fury like an unbalanced netizen scorned.  I wish the dragon had eaten him after all.

A quick summary of the arguments Wasted has been attempting to make is as follows:

1. The dictatorship of the television is over.
2. Linden Lab is a private company making an economic profit from the volunteer workers in Second Life and this is tantamount to slavery.
3.  Second Life is an addictive online gambling game and that's immoral and illegal.
4.  Addicts and unpaid volunteers working for for-profit companies are essentially slaves and they need to be rescued and the slave master stopped.
5.  Linden Lab discriminates against the Spanish-language speaker-users and shows favoritism towards the speakers of other languages by not adequately representing Spanish-speakers with translations, signs, notecards and flags at Linden Lab Welcome Centers in Second Life.
6.  Spanish-speakers have been relegated to Spanish ghettos in Second Life and there is further indirect discrimination through such things as Spanish translations with lots of errors demonstrating that the employees at Linden Lab do not care about their Spanish-speaking residents.
7.  Wasted has been personally discriminated against and the fact that he speaks Spanish may be a major factor in why he was not hired by Linden Lab.
8.  Help Island is a shameful sham and Arch Linden knows the truth.
9.  Jack, Michael and Terrence Linden should resign.
10.  Jack Linden should be fired.
11.  Children should not play Second Life.
12.  Terrence Linden is trying to get teens addicted to Second Life.
13.  The Linden Prize is a fraud.
14.  Public money is being used to support the addictive sham that is Second Life.
15.  Second Life is making residents pay money for an unlawful file sharing platform.
16.  Second Life is being invaded by aliens and those aliens are abducting people.
17.  Linden Lab employees have been unresponsive to inquiries on these subjects.

Wasted said on his website:
"I´ve been triying to get a decent job with Linden Lab, but it is clear that you only want to hire slaves and shameless..."

"I´ve been an assiduous member of SL since 2006. I already made my own translator for free and I helped a lot of people and I got tired. I am only triying to contact any Linden Lab employee, nobody else. I bet for a better SL."

"I think that the next CEO should be an addict to Games and Second Life, a person whom could understand the deep problems in Second Life, and not a business-man."

"The Wasted! team has millions of good reasons to be smiling about the Wasted-Mania In its current incarnation, it's had millions of posts, taking him to an unprecedented level of popularity. The new web site is almost an entire re-factor of the old wasted´s material.
The user experience is still extremely slick but for parasites the Wasted! Web Site is a dream. A proper framework for second life residents seeking the best of the best."

http://www.wastedlife.com.ar

The real issue being debated across the forums is...Wasted:  Calculating griefer, virtual political activist, hilarious performance artist, typical internet asshole, forum poster just like the rest of us or unbalanced and mentally ill person loose on the web?  Keep the alien abductions in mind as you think about your response.  And the next question is, is there any harm in engaging him if you do think he is unbalanced and mentally ill?  If he just wants attention or a debate, is there any harm in giving it to him?  And the next question is, amid all that ranting and raving, are there any legitimate points about Linden Labs worth actually discussing?

1.  What is Wasted?
2.  Is there any harm?
3.  Is there any merit?

Eavesdropping (July 5, 2011)

Must every blog and forum post contain a chicken reference?  It's the virtual world's new meme.  Someone tell JohnnyVann that chimps are so 70s.  These are fowl times.  Although we will never forget our dogs and lolcats, not even "Snot."  And while some dastardly demons are killing the virtual world's chickens, Wasted pauses to reflect on his work.  I'm more concerned about the Muffins of Doom and the flaming butt sword.  I always thought "butthurt" was a little more emo and a little less...well, sharp, fiery and coming to a hole near any of us.

JohnnyVann in "Chimp Photo of the Week" on SC MKII:
"Remember Jen's Daily Chicken? Well now that I'm following Jan Goodall I get the Chimp Photo of the Week!"
Wasted Engineer on gV in the "Am I strengthening or fucking the community?" thread:
"Am I strengthening or fucking the community?

We could create a debate among those whom like my style and those whom like my cock, but this thread is more about something I ask myself once in a while...

Sometimes I think I am fucking everybody, and other times I feel I am strengthening the community.

I try to defend our rights, and I really try to defend the children and the weak minded persons against SecondLife, and I belive that it is a good thing for the community to protest about the sub-human conditions that Linden Lab wants us to stand."
Orinytync to Wasted in Wasted's Shoutbox:
"Undeniably believe that which you stated. Skup aut Your favorite reason seemed to be on the internet the simplest thing to be aware of. I say to you, I definitely get annoyed while people think about worries that they just do not know about. You managed to hit the nail upon the top and also defined out the whole thing without having side effect , people can take a signal. Will probably be back to get more. Thanks"
Kristian in "mgz vs cristiano" on SC MKII:
"I've been bitten by this dog. I like to check that it's not crapping anywhere near my lawn once in a while."
Pep said in "Tarzan Loses His Grip" on Forum Confidential:
"Snot the Cat sounds like a great counterpart to Spit the Dog, the infamous cohort of unfunny Brummie comedian Bob Carolgees, whose only claim to fame was that he was part of the Saturday morning ITV mayhem on TISWAS ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tiswas ) hosted by the delectably "leather and lace" Sally James and Chris Tarrant in the days before he got too derivatively self-referential for his own good and parodied himself as a quizmaster on Millionaire.
Pep (The late-night after-the-watershed version of TISWAS, OTT ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/O.T.T. ) regularly featured stupid tits.)"
CoyoteMomiji in "Richard Dawkins tells American women to stop bitching about sexual harrassment" on SLU:
"Someone print out a few dozen copies of Schroedinger's Rapist and then smack Dawkins around the head with it, please?"
Mulch in "Chaos Factor:  I'm calling you out" on SC MKII:
"this is rare. but you EARNED it, so enjoy
(you shoulda got one for your reno chicken stream play by play as well, but i dont think GV has that emote)"
Mulch in "Example of another worthless scumbag politician in the US" on SC MKII:
"while wad and gle participate in a "chicken-dance" off"

NikitaNightNinja said in "Fascist Fashion? In *my* SL?" on SLU:
"U r not getting it right wise guy, stupid here, was merely asking Detrius's opinion and I think he is too chicken to say what he really thinks or is afraid of being misunderstood by others and having to explain stuff to them, so he feels it safer to just attack me personally rather than what he probably knows I am trying to say or ask.
~ The Complete Idiot"
Yeah, I said "chicken" too.  This is me on gV in "Mitch's Thread":
"A lot has been said about the "chicken and the egg" dynamic to DeNiro's and Pacino's acting and the directing of Coppola and Scorcese. Do they portray criminals exceptionally well or do criminals play them (modeling themselves on DeNiro and Pacino and characters in the films of Coppola and Scorcese)?"
And now for flaming butt swords.

Joshua Nightshade on SLU in the "Goodbye" thread:
"He didn't suspend Ranma 'for her own good,' he did so because she was going on and on about sodomising people to death with flaming swords."
Joshua Nightshade in  "Richard Dawkins tells American women to stop bitching about sexual harrassment"on SLU:
"Now now Miss Crabgrass, all that hate won't make you any more fascinating to be around at the church potluck."
"Shush, or I will slap you in the face with my mastodonian penis.
Lias on gV in the "Standing invitation for SCMK-II and SLU People who have an axe to grind....." thread:
"I went over to SLU (because you slags were sleepin') and got a thread locked in 3 posts and 5 minutes. That was unfulfilling."
Lias on gV in the "The Saloon (a mature area17-NSFW-Red thread)" thread:
"That sort of hyper drama only works on the mob at SCII and SLU."
Prokofy Neva in "SL Discussion Tonight -- America: Hate or Emulate?"on Second Thoughts:
"I was inspired to think more about this topic not only by the holiday but a long Twitfight with an Indian philosopher, which you can follow here.
P.S. You can also give me skin and make-up tips as I am rolling out my RL avatar who is female, I've been shopping for her in the retro stores today!"

Morgaine Alter on SC MKII in the "ppl be stealing my shit in SL" thread:
"Muffins Of Doom ran by these two ppl and the known alts."
Atra Lupis in SC MKII in the "Ellos" thread:

Eavesdropping (July 3, 2011)

Chicken killers, collateral damage and crimes against humanity and the community.

"Sluniverse Tries for a Summer Blockbuster Sequel -- Yawn" on Second Thoughts.

Prokofy Neva said:
"Sluniverse.com Sharia Court is in session again -- they haven't had any good bones to pick over in quite awhile.
Even so, the drama is well past the sell-by date -- it all feels like last summer's blockbuster movie with a lacklustre sequel like "Jaws 2" or something.
Creepy! These people are malicious chicken killers -- and that's of course emblematic of everything they were. "

More on chicken killers here and here.

Hot Coffee on SC MKII

"One of the representatives of McDonald's referred to her on the stand as "collateral damage" in the burger wars. Fucking COLLATERAL DAMAGE!"

Also, another tip for anyone entering the SC MKII [you] community...

Know the players.

Vengence Opus (2 Es and no As) said:
"I took my name, years ago, from the misspelling of a kung-fu movie title...it has worked charmingly over the years for pointing out the pointless people who have nothing better to do than try to deflect when someone calls them on their stupidity.
I wouldn't expect you to know that, however, since you are not a part of this community, the first or second iteration. You have no ground to stand on outside of pure rhetorical nonsense, and must, therefore, claw madly like a cat in a bath for something. I look at you exactly like that: an animal responding out of fear and reflex. It's ok, little guy. If the name is the best you can do, I'll give you a *patpat*.
That from the "Example of another worthless scumbag politician in the US" thread.  Funnily enough, GreenLantern Excelsior, otherwise known as "GLE," an SC MKII member since 2009 with 1,928 posts and even some "hey where are you, we miss you, hey he's back" comments from other posters, the OP of the thread and the recipient of Vengence's remarks, is enough of a member of the SC MKII community to have his prior posts and tropes referenced in the thread like old, commonly recognizable memes.  The bar is set high, intrepid registering members.

And just a funny little coincidink from the old SL forums:
"Vengence Opus tastes like chicken legs"

"Or is it too much to ask for me to be able to just give my opinion on shit without everyone screaming 'He's typing again! Someone stop him!?"
That man's commitment to his role would give the most emaciated method actor an inferiority complex.  Get the man another beer.

I'm reminded of a line from the 2004 version of The Stepford Wives.  Matthew Broderick as "Walter" speaking to Nicole Kidman as "Joanna":

"And your whole attitude makes people want to kill you.  It makes people try to kill you."

Do you think Kick has met Scylla, Ima and Seicher Rae?  I see a potential SC MKII subforum in the near future.  Monna and the Admin Bunneh are probably already on it.

Cristiano on SLU dangerously courting another browser war:
"I spent a little time looking at the statistics for June, and noticed a few interesting things.
From the browser stats, I noticed that Chrome has overtaken Internet Explorer. I imagine the remaining IE is all Beebo."

TT said on Forum Confidential:
"We love comments about Pep and, what's more, Pep loves comments about Pep! Perhaps you sent your letters to Monna and they got lost in her habit."

Pep said on Forum Confidential:
"You're just jealous that I am a better attention whore than the rest of you."

"Oh, and thanks Lee for the compliment over on SC2; no one has ever compared me favourably with a cup of tea before.
Pep (is usually compared with coffee; strong and bitter, occasionally foaming, but always hot.)

"Pep (thinks "Ptolemy" would be a suitable portmanteau label for any joint Pep-Lee mind meld personality.)"

Ima Rang said:
"Will there be pictures of the Pep-Lee mind meld?"
"I'm not sure your earnest attraction to Pep, your proclivity for diplomacy, along with your obvious reluctance to suck a hematoma on the duodenum of Pep's waste tract would make pictures a snore fest or collectors item"

We're all a bunch of bloody voyeurs, aren't we?
